Modern Medicine is a growing collection of images that presents an incongruous survey of ritual, persuasion and performance. The work considers a contemporary moment in which growing technologies and technological access have the potential to excite, to quiet, to connect and to impose, and the project aims to conflate adverse notions of protection and exposure. The banal subject matter explores varying levels of actual and implied intervention of space, and asks viewers to observe their own personal negotiations of experience, including virtual camouflage and the ambiguous and overt power constructs that exist in physical and digital realms.
